Hello new year, hello full moon. Tomorrow we'll see the first full moon of this lunar calendar. It's been called the Full Wolf Moon by some.
According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, the full moon of January "appeared when wolves howled in hunger outside the villages." Sounds ominous for sure. However, this morning I look out my window and see only snow covering the ground. No wolves here!
So much to look forward to and feel grateful for in this new month and the new year we have before us. I encourage you to seek out are share messages of love, hope and peace. There's enough strife and negativity in our new modern world. We must be vigilant about bringing more positive energy. Let us be part of the solution.
So far this year has brought us loads of snow and ice. I must admit the snow days make me feel like a kid again. A few years back I was ambitious enough to walk about 3 miles through the snow just to get some photos. I don't think that will be happening today. I'm okay viewing it through the window. I enjoy being warm and cozy these days.
Although I did get a few photos from my yard...
"I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says, "Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again." — Lewis Carroll (Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass)
Look closely you'll see water bubbling under the ice... cold, inspiring, sparkling icy water that used to feed the tiny birds that would flock to our yard in the summer months. Now, still.
Inspiring all things shiny and bright...
